Dear Church Family,

How are you using your voice? Today, as I was reading Psalm 82, I was reminded of the importance of using our voices to support justice. In this Psalm, God judges the unjust judges and calls on them to enact justice, especially for those who have no voice.

Psalm 82:3-4 (ESV)
“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

We may never become judges or hold elected offices, but we do have the opportunity to vote for just officials and support just laws. Here in Idaho, one of the neediest groups we can support are the unborn. By voting “no” to Proposition 1, we can protect the lives of those not yet born. We know that God is the author of life and has fearfully and wonderfully made each person in His image.

Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV)
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

How can you use your voice for justice? Voting is one important way, but there are many others. How will you support the weak, the fatherless, the afflicted, the destitute, and the needy?

What’s Happening at Gospel Life:

Sunday Evening Youth Group: All youth are invited to the Bronleewes’ house  this Sunday, October 18th, from 5-7 pm. We’ll have dinner, games, worship, and continue our study through the book, A Case for Christ. This week we will go over chapter four. If you would like an audiobook version of the book, you can find it here:
