Dear Church Family, Do you believe in amazing grace? “Amazing Grace” is one of my favorite hymns; it tells of the miracle of God’s grace towards us. As believers, we are grateful to receive His grace. Are we as willing to give it out to one another? After finishing the book of Job, I started reading through the book of Acts this week. It describes the beginning of the New Testament church after Jesus is taken into glory. There are many incredible details about the church in Acts, but today in the fourth chapter of Acts, the word “grace” caught my eye.
The early church was marked by great unity. One key to that unity is found in verse 33. “Great grace was upon them all.” They had responded to God’s incredible gift of grace in the Gospel. But that grace was now poured out to one another. The very next verse describes that grace to one another, as those who had much gave to those who had little, so that no one was needy. They freely gave, just as they had freely received. What grace do you have to give to others? What needs do you see around you? There are many gifts we can give to one another. We often think of financial or tangible gifts, but those gifts can also be kindness, forgiveness, time, love, compassion, and understanding. We give out grace when we give away freely, expecting nothing in return. God has been so gracious with us! Let us also have great grace for one another.
