Dear Church Family, We’re starting a new series, this Sunday, through the book of Proverbs. God has so much amazing wisdom to share with us. The question is, “Are we listening?” As a kid, did you ever plug your ears and say to someone, “I’m not listening to you?” Or maybe someone tried that on you. It’s hard to share with someone who refuses to listen. One of my favorite verses in Proverbs is a reminder of this.
None of us want to be called a fool. The fool here is defined as someone who despises wisdom and instruction. You might be thinking, “I don’t despise wisdom, I just don’t want to listen to it. I don’t hate it, I just want to do my own thing.” By refusing to listen, that’s exactly what you’re doing. God has knowledge, wisdom, and instruction available to us. Will we humble ourselves and fear Him, or will we despise these and trust in ourselves? Is there any area in your life right now where God’s wisdom has the answers you need, but you’ve been putting your fingers in your ears saying, “I can’t hear you?” What would it look like to unplug your ears, listen to God’s truth, and apply it today? –Pastor Dave ———————————————————————————————————————————————- What’s Happening at Gospel Life:Communion: We will celebrating the Lord’s Supper as part of our Sunday morning service this Sunday, March 1st. Through the ordinance of communion, we remember the sacrifice Jesus made to save us from our sins. Youth Group: All youth are invited this Sunday, March 1st, from 5-7 pm, to the Bronleewes’ house. We’ll have dinner, games, worship, and a Bible study. Elder Training: Our next training is on Tuesday, March 3rd at 7 pm at the Bronleewes’ house. Opportunities to Serve: If you are interested in serving in any of the ministries of the church, we would love to hear from you.
