Dear Church Family, I’ve been thinking about horrible events of the last few days, from the evil assassination of Charlie Kirk, to the disgusting responses from some, to the broader hate and wickedness we see in our land. It feels overwhelming, and it’s a reminder, to me, of just how horrible the disease of sin is in our country and our world. This begs the question, “Where is our hope?” What can we do about the problem of evil in our country? There’s only one answer: Jesus Christ.
Two words come to my mind: pray and point. Let us pray faithfully and fervently that God would turn hearts to Him. I’m reminded of our time in 1 Timothy 2 on prayer.
Let us also point people to Jesus, with our words and with our lives. Paul, in prison, rejoiced that Christ was being proclaimed, even in difficult circumstances. Let us also use every opportunity to proclaim Christ and His Gospel.

What’s Happening at Gospel Life:Prayer for Elder Selection: As we go through the process for selecting elders, our first step is to pray for God to clearly lead us. Please read over 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and pray for God to give us unity and clear direction. Elder nominations will be available starting September 21st. Youth Group: All youth are invited this Sunday, September 14th, from 5-7 pm, to the Bronleewes’ house . We’ll have dinner, games, worship, and continue our study, “James: Faith Lived Out.” Men’s Breakfast: We’re excited for our next Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, September 27th, from 8-10 am, at the Gerdes’ house in Nampa. Look for the sign up sheet at the Welcome Table on Sunday. Communion: We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper as part of our Sunday morning service on Sunday, September 28th. Through the ordinance of communion, we remember the sacrifice Jesus made to save us from our sins. Elder Training: Our next Elder Training is Tuesday, October 7th at 7 pm at the Bronleewes’ house. We’ll continue to study 2 Timothy 1. Please contact Pastor Dave if you have any questions or need a copy of the homework. Opportunities to Serve: We’re looking for help with sound mixing, operating the video camera, and running slides during the morning worship service. If you are interested in serving, please contact Pastor Dave (daveb@gospellifebc.com). Life Groups: If you’re interested in joining a life group, we have several to choose from. You can check them out here: Request Prayer: It’s important for us to be praying for each other as a church! If you ever need prayer, we would love to come alongside you. You can always turn in a prayer request on Sundays using the Connection Card, but you can also submit a prayer request online at any time: This Coming Sunday: Previous Worship Services: | ||
