Dear Church Family, Are you someone who likes to be in charge? It’s really difficult to have someone else in charge when you think you know better. Sometimes we feel that way with God. We don’t understand His ways and sometimes can’t make sense of how He is working in our lives. I was reading in Isaiah this morning and came across these verses:
This brings it all into perspective! How foolish would it be for a pot to start arguing with its creator? Who knows better, the pot or the potter? In verse nine the pot even questions what the potter is making and informs him that he has forgotten to make handles. We feel like that sometimes, questioning what God is doing or informing Him how He could do things better. The key truth here is that the Creator is infinitely wiser than His creation and He knows exactly what He is doing and fashions everything for a purpose. How have you been wrestling with God? Have there been some things in your life that don’t make sense, or you would like to be different? We’re starting a series through the book of Jonah. In the first chapter, Jonah runs from God because he can’t grasp or get behind the mission God has given him. Jonah has trouble trusting in the will of God and the heart of God. Before Sunday, would you pray for God to remind you of the goodness of His will and His heart? Ask Him to show you where your will and heart need to match up to His, trusting that He knows best.
